What’s Trending in Jewelry?: Fall 2014

Ahh it’s here, sweater weather. Cooler weather and autumn hues are all around as fall is officially upon us. As you begin to break out the cardigans and tights, one of the best ways to add some fall flavor to your outfit is through your jewelry and accessory choices. Not only fun to shop for, jewelry can provide a wardrobe pop true to the season.

Statement Rings

Bold, chunky rings are in for fall. With awe-inspiring gems and a personality all their own, statement rings are ruling the runway. With so many options to choose from, pick a piece that works with jeans and a t-shirt or a killer cocktail dress.
Quintessa Ring

The Quintessa Ring by Brilliant Earth, $5,940

With crimson sparkle and an immeasurable amount of elegance, this is the ring that adds a little oomph to your life. From Brilliant Earth, this 4-karat Edwardian tourmaline is the perfect example of a statement ring done right.

Venetian Quatrefoil Ring by David Yurman, $9,000

Golden and glamorous, this David Yurman 18-karat yellow gold and citrine ring is fit for a queen. This is the kind of ring that makes you want to walk around with your hand held out and it is worth every penny (and you’ll need a lot of them). Truly one of a kind, you better get an appraisal on this one.

Bib Necklaces

Always a favorite, bib necklaces are taking it up a notch this fall. Cascading bibs with glistening gems are being seen paired with everything from paisley prints to comfy knits. From sweet and flirty to elaborate ensembles, these necklaces are dripping with personality.

Boho Chic Bib Necklace by Heidi Daus, $299.95

With a hearty dose of rich jewel tones, this the embodiment the perfect bib necklace. This piece, by Heidi Daus, has a nice weight and texture that should carry you through spring weather.

Orange Bib Beaded Necklace by Natori, $250

Drenched in shades of orange, this dainty necklace has more than a pop of color. Complementary to many different styles and tastes, this piece by Natori, available for purchase by Lyst, is the just right accessory to get you in the mood for autumn.

Exotic Animal Prints

Something about the dropping temperatures seems to bring out people’s fierceness. Animal inspired jewelry seems to be popping up everywhere, with pieces of all kinds reflecting the carnal vibe we are seeing both on the runway and in the streets.

Feeling like the king of the jungle? This amazing engraved lion inspired bracelet is a must-have piece. Take on the world with flare.

14k Gold Vermeil Bracelet, Enamel Leopard Patterned Bangle, $199

Fun, yet classy, this 14K gold vermeil bracelet pulls together personality and the classic taste offered in a bangle. Pieces like this offer a way to dress up a basic black ensemble and could be paired with other pieces due to the simplified presence of animal print.

Whatever your style, find your own way to incorporate the idea behind each of these trends to create your own interpretation of fall fashion. Your jewelry shouldn’t just be reflection of what’s hot right now, rather you should buy pieces that feel like you and work with your wardrobe. One last note, think about avoiding protruding clasps and sharp edges on the pieces you buy, as they have a tendency to snag sweaters!
